Applications are required to participate in Advanced Medical Academy (AMA) programs. These special programs have limited capacity (ranging from 10 – 20 students, depending on the program). Only Medical Academy Alumni (SMA-2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024; WMA-Mental Health Matters in Medicine; WMA-From Dreams to Reality: Become a Professional Nurse; WMA- Physician Assistants) are eligible to participate, including those who have served as a Group Leader/Mentor. Interested students and their parents are encouraged to review the information below, and reach out to the Center for Healthier Communities (858-966-7563) with any questions.
A Surgical Experience with Fresh Start – $600, includes course materials, t-shirt, parking & all meals. Transportation and Housing are not included.
